New Bible Journal

I did it.
I bought a Bible Journal.

This is called the Canvas and it is 'The Message" version.
I bought it because it is partially illustrated with Zentangles and ZIAs. I have taken classes to learn how to Zentangle and almost squealed in the store when I found this!

Here are a few photos of some of the  pages.

There are a few 2 page spreads throughout the book that are awesome!

Each book of the Bible has a beautiful drawing on the first page.
Click on the picture for a closer look.

Some pages are more simple, like this page.

And some are more elaborate, like this page.

There are plenty of blank pages with lines to do your own art or note taking.

I'm excited to begin this new adventure of Bible Journaling.
I will still use my Faith Journal for Verse Mapping and other studies.

Gratitude
1. Bible Journals
2. Time with spent with God in a new way!
3. Sunny days of Winter

Ephesians 1:16
I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers.

Deeper Still, VM & Faith Journal

Sorry I was away for a while.
I had to cover for the boss' vacation and worked six days a week for two weeks. Didn't leave any time for study, art or anything really.
I have recovered and am trying to get caught up with everything.

Yesterday I did the Deeper Still Challenge, Lesson #2, by Rebekah R. Jones.
Joy is the theme of:

Psalm 16:11 (NIV)
You make known to me the path of life;
You fill me with joy in Your presence,
with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.

Nelson's Bible Commentary
Indicates the eternal life given by the resurrected Savior to all who trust in Him.

I also did a short Verse Mapping in my Faith Journal.

I covered the letters of JOY in washi tape and cut them out. I used a pink washable marker to color the page behind the letters. Almost wish I had chosen a lighter pink. On the second page I added some flower stickers and found synonyms for the two words that stood out for me. Like I said, this is a short verse mapping as I am still a little tired.

I am going away for the weekend and will be shopping for a Bible Journal. I have finally decided that I want one. I am leaning towards the Inspire version, but we shall see. I love the headings for each book in that one.

Gratitude
1. Catching up
2. You
3. Bible Journals

Ephesians 1:16
I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers.

I always say a prayer of thanks for each of you that have stopped by. If you have a specific need for prayer, please leave a comment below and I will pray for you.

Blessings.,
Deborah

Rev. 1:10-11 & Verse Mapping

John was in the Spirit!!
Are you?
I'm feeling I'm being led by the Spirit to continue this study of Revelation and learn all I can.
My favorite has become cross referencing. I love seeing the New Testament mirrored in the Old Testament. Brings it all together and makes it feel even more real to me.

As it says in Exodus 17:14 and Revelation 1:11, "Write this on a scroll..;" I feel that writing down the scripture helps me to remember and understand it better. Remember back in grade school that Monday night's homework was to write our spelling words five times each?
Writing helps the brain recall what you read.

Rev. 1:10-11 (NIV)
On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."

I can't wait to see what Jesus tells John to write to these seven churches!

I was feeling the need for a little more art in my Verse Mapping. The scroll is a Goggle image and I traced the dove from another Google image. I love the new feather washi tape I found. It was perfect for this page, don't you think?
(Click on the photo for a bigger image.)

Gratitude
1. Being in "the Spirit"
2. Art work
3. OT and NT

Ephesians 1:16
I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers.

May I pray for you?
Leave me a comment and I will add you to my prayer list.

Blessings,
Deborah
